My1Voice Review Detail:
My1voice is a cost-effective, feature-rich virtual phone service that is designed specifically for entrepreneurs, home offices, and small businesses with 1 to 25 employees. My1voice is a new Software as a Service (SaaS) business communications service offered by Protus that was officially launched in 2008.
Being a relatively new company, My1Voice may be lacking a few features that some of our other more established providers offer, however they stand out when it comes to customer service. We were hard pressed to find many un-happy customers, and all of our interactions with My1Voice have resulted in very timely responses. A recent quote from Protus CEO Joseph Nour says it all: "Quality communication is the cornerstone of customer service. And in the current economy, it`s customer service that will win the day."
My1Voice Likes:
Simple Approach: Unlike some other virtual PBX providers, my1voice is one step ahead by being able to provide ALL of their features with ALL of their plans. My1voice includes all its virtual receptionist features, regardless of the number of minutes used. This will allow you to pick a plan mainly based on the number of minutes you actually need.
Unlimited Extensions My1voice recently implemented unlimited extensions on all of their plans, joining Phone.com and Grasshopper who also offer this feature. You can now add as many extensions as you need at no additional cost.
No Hidden/Extra Charges: This is one truly great feature that will be hard to beat. Most of their competitors have additional charges for setup, Vanity numbers and transfer of existing toll free number or local numbers.
Web Calls: You can now place a Call Me button or link on your website or in your email signature and my1voice will connect the caller to you at a click of a mouse button. This is similar to Click to call me feature being offered by Phone.com and RingCentral.
My1Voice Dislikes:
Lacks some feature: My1voice doesn't offer as many features as some of its competitors. It currently lacks the ability to add in answering rules for holidays which many would find beneficial. My1voice also only allows you to record an after-hour greeting that you can schedule to start and stop at specific dates and times, but you cannot specifically define how your after hour calls should be handled (e.g., send callers to voicemail) unlike RingCentral. When a caller is on hold, instead of hearing a ringing phone while waiting to be connected to an extension, callers hear music like their competitors. But unlike most of its competitors, my1Voice does not have the option to customize what music can be played while on hold or doesn’t give you an option to pick a music that would best reflect your business industry. But while my1voice lacks some of these features, it still offers the basic and most popular features available in a virtual phone system.
No Outbound Fax Option: While you can receive incoming faxes, currently no outbound faxing option is available with your my1voice account. In order to send faxes you will also need to sign up for their myfax product. Prices start at just $10 per month for this service as well.
1 Incoming Line on All Plans: You have to pay $5.00/month to add additonal incoming lines. As we've mentioned in our RingCentral review, this can be a problem for businesses who want both an Toll Free number and a local number. They will have to pay the additional $5/month to get that additional local line. Both Phone.com and Grasshopper include at least 1 additional line with plans above the professional level.
My1Voice Bottom Line:
While my1voice doesn't offer as many features as some of its competitors, they do offer the most popular ones. It would be nice to see my1voice offer no additional cost for additional phone lines instead of $5/month, and outbound Internet Faxing without having to purchase the myFax solution. However, we fully expect that My1Voice will add these missing features, understanding that they are still a relatively new company.
Even though they are a relatively new player to the virtual pbx scene, my1voice is able to compete nicely, due to the recent and significant changes to their virtual pbx plans that resulted in all of their features now being available on all of their plans. All in all they are a great option for the home office, small business, or traveling professional needing the basic features of a pbx, with great customer service, and a very nice bundle of included minutes, all at an affordable price.
